Only 130 miles on a body off the frame rottiserie restoration. Real
SS-396, factory born garnet red. Highly detailed underside with
some upgrades.
EXTERIOR: The body is clean metal. It's straight. The paint is
polished like glass. Rotisserie restored means the body was
literally on a rotisserie. This makes it so much easier to do a
better job because the car can be flipped so you can get to all
angles. It was born a code 52 Garnet red. Dressed up with the SS
decal stripes on the sides. New bumpers, taillights, handles,
emblems etc. Jambs are detailed. New weatherstrips and sill plates.
New white convertible power top with glass window.
INTERIOR: The white interior really pops against the red. It's all
new inside. The white upholstery, headrest covers, visors,
armrests, door panels are new. Seat backs and chrome seat trim is
new. The entire dash area is new- instrument panel, heater
controls, dash pad, glovebox liner erc. New factory gauge cluster
with tachometer and clock. Has a restored tilt column with a new
deluxe rosewood wheel. New retro stereo. Also new window cranks,
handles, mirror, console, and carpet. Has seatbelts front and
back.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: I open the hood and the first thing I thought
was: "glossy". Bottom of the hood, firewall, radiator support and
inner fenders are gloss black. It has shiny chrome air cleaner,
valve covers, alternator, radiator cover and power steering pump.
The components look new- wiper motor, hood insulation, wiring, fan
shroud, washer bottle, brake booster, master etc. Upgraded aluminum
radiator. Has period correct 396 with factory aluminum intake.
Upgraded dual feed Holley carb, HEI ignition and a set of coated
headers.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Completely clean metal that's been neatly
spatter painted and then it's been clear coated for a durable
protection. It has a new mat, weatherstrip and decal. Painted SS
wheel for a spare, has complete jack assembly. Bottom of the trunk
lid jamb was painted glossy.
UNDERSIDE: Totally restored and detailed. The body was off the
frame and on a rotisserie. The floors are pristine- the braces,
inner rockers, drain plugs etc are clean. Painted red oxide primer
then clear coated for protection and glossy finish. The frame and
chassis components were powder coated semigloss black. Upfront is
upgraded with coil over adjustable gas shocks, tubular upper and
lower control arms and a fatter swaybar. The balljoints, bushings,
springs are all new. All new suspension in back, has boxed control
arms and swaybar, new springs and shocks. All new brake system,
upgraded to disc at all four wheels. New e-brake assembly, hoses,
lines. New polished stainless fuel tank, new straps, sending unit
and lines. New exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, resonators and
cowbell tips. Bottom of the motor is spotless, has new starter and
fuel pump. Muncie 4-speed was gone through, new shift linkage. New
u-joints. Has correct 12 bolt rear with 3.31 posi gears. The bottom
of this car is new: all the finishes, every last bushing, clip and
clamp.
Who wouldn't want a gorgeous Chevelle SS 396 convertible with a
4-speed. If you consider the time and money it would take to
duplicate this restoration, this is a great deal!
