car spent time lapping the track during an eventful Daytona 500 in
February of 1991. Multiple spin outs, an engine fire, many lead
changes, a couple of NASCAR legends getting tangled up toward the
end of the race, and even Dale Earnhardt hitting a seagull with his
car are just a few of the happenings as the race progressed. Ernie
Irvan took the lead and finally won the race, after the 1, 2
positions Earnhardt and Davey Allison spun with just 2 laps to go.
This is a true Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona Pace Car, not just a
normal Grand Prix that stickers and a light bar were added to.
Being a true Pace Car, much like any concept or pre-production
vehicle, it is sold with a Scrap Title, meaning the car was never
meant to be driven on the street. The title is still directly from
General Motors and is now owned as a show vehicle only. This is
truly a collector's piece for a diehard NASCAR fan, or Pontiac
enthusiast. Finished in Neon Blue Metallic over a gray interior,
this 5th Generation Grand Prix is in amazing condition and only
shows just over 9k miles. Factory alloy mesh wheels paired with
larger fender flares and added body molding lend a sporty look to
the exterior. You can't miss the Daytona 500 stickers or the orange
roof mounted lightbar. A 3.4L Dual Cam V6 resides under the hood
and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. A whole slew of
options can be found inside the car, many were options that were
new ideas or only available on more expensive vehicles at the time
the car was offered. Heads-up display, a digital compass display,
stereo buttons on the steering wheel, and even a glovebox with a 3
digit combination rather than a key are a few interior highlights.
NASCAR fans take note of this car! Truly a one of a kind collector
vehicle with a place in American motorsports history, you won't see
another one of these any time soon! Be sure to check out all the
photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if
interested or e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
