The 1956 Mercury Montclair is a 6 year restoration. The following is an incomplete list of the repairs to the car.
Suspension: Springs removed, cleaned and replaced with Teflon strips placed between the spmring leaves and below the front coils.
Body Mounts all replaced Steering: New Ball Joints and tie rod ends replaced.
Steering Sector, power steering hoses replaced and the Power Steering pump and cylinder rebuilt.
Radiator and gas tank cleaned, new Fuel Line available but not installed.
Brakes: New Brake Lines, brake cylinders, and linings replaced with new. The Power Brake Vacuum pump rebuilt.
Transmission, Torque Converter, Ring Gear rebuilt
Engine: Engine, Starter, Generator, Carburetor all professionally rebuilt.
Instrument Panel and all gauges rebuilt, with new factory built wiring harnesses. Windshield Wiper Vacuum replaced with Elect wiper motor. Heater core and motor replaced with new. Radio: Updated to AM/FM with auxiliary input added.
Interior & Headliner: All new and reconstructed to as near to original as could be found with insulation added to the roof, door panels, hood, firewall and floor.
Glass: All new with the exception of the Rear Window and was still in excellent condition and not available new.
Gaskets and Seals: Replaced with new (Doors, Trunk and windows).
Exterior Stainless Steel replaced and or professionally straightened. Interior chrome was not re-chromed and is for the most part presentable.
Paint: Car was stripped and repainted to factory Original Colors. Saffron Yellow & Classic White
Title: Title in Nebraska is clear and unencumbered.
