Vehicle Description
The owner purchased this nice original 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air from
and elderly gentleman who bought it 2nd hand back in 1966. He
spotted this beautiful 2-Door Sport Coupe on a Chevy Dealers used
car lot where he impulse bought the then 8 year old used car for
$795. He drove the car regularly but not as an everyday driver and
always parked it during the winter. The cars condition reflects its
48,822 miles and his good stewardship of it. He continued to drive
the car into the mid-1980's when reverse went out of the old
powerglide transmission. He pushed the car into his garage and
covered it with some blankets where it was properly stored for the
next 30+ years. The previous owner also relayed that other than
regular maintenance he only cleaned and repainted the engine and
had the eyebrows on top the front fenders repaired and the white
paint spotted back in. The current owner brought this Bel Air out
of hibernation and thoroughly washed the 2-tone body and then gave
it a good wax & detail. It cleaned up well and is in nice original
survivor quality condition. This 58 Chevy has never been wrecked,
rebuilt, repainted or taken apart for restoration. This Sport Coupe
has the attractive and desirable color combination of an Arctic
White & Sierra Gold Body with a 3-Tone Cloth & Vinyl Interior. The
body is clean & straight showing no signs of any previous damage or
sheet metal replacement. The current owner removed the front & rear
seats, carpeting and trunk mat for you to see how clean and
original the floor pans are. After doing so they discovered a
partial build sheet glued to the top of the tunnel. With the
exception of the eyebrows this car is rust-free from top to bottom.
Even though the paint is still nice & shiny and is not stained,
crazed or cracked it does have some chips scratches & the body has
several minor dents. The hood doors and trunk lid all open close &
latch easily and lock correctly with their original keys.
