Vehicle Description
This 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon is that awesome kind of mix
of nostalgic 8-person family hauler and genuine fuel-injected V8
power. So when you have a well-presented example that's also quite
affordable, you know you need to dig into the details.
The factory Light Driftwood color seems like an ideal pairing for
the classic wood paneling you expect in the family wagon. And this
one even lives up to its Buick heritage with a premium look that
includes a band of brightwork that encircles the whole car. The
vintage look hides the modern look of this Roadmaster. After all,
the rounded design was one of Buick most streamlined looks ever.
But the tinted windows show that this Estate Wagon also has a
little more attitude than most. And those classic Cragar SS wheels
with gold line whitewalls not only pay tribute to the cruising
heritage of the station wagon, but it's also a reminder of the
special V8 that's under the hood (more in that in a moment.)
The medium beige leather interior has a nice coordinating tone with
the exterior. It all has a well-respected look you want in a
premium Buick. In fact, because these were expensive when new, it's
great to see it with plenty of premium features, like power front
seats, power locks, power windows, anti-theft system, and the
premium factory AM/FM/cassette stereo. You may have also noticed
that this has some great old-school wagon features. Some are great
for showing off, like the passenger sunroof. Others are nice for
practicality, like the rear-facing third row seat that brings the
seating total up to eight. And thanks to modern R134a air
conditioning, everyone gets to ride in cool comfort. But you don't
need the full family to appreciate this Roadmaster. The front seat
has a fold-down cup holder armrest to give you a bucket-like level
of comfort. And the motor really makes this a driver's machine.
Under the hood is in an engine bay that looks like a 1996 time
capsule. Below the factory plastic covers is the 5.7-liter LT1 V8
engine that is believed to be original to the car. Yes, this is the
same type of fuel-injected powerplant that was available in the
Corvette and Impala SS. But it also has been tuned for luxury in
this Roadmaster. That means plenty of power whenever you need it,
but the kind of quiet operation that keeps in good standing with
the neighbors. This powerful and luxury dual nature is best felt on
the open road. You have a four-speed automatic transmission with a
highway-ready overdrive, and the suspension is set up for grand
touring. Plus, the power steering, cruise control, and power brakes
w/discs up front are all perfect for the long haul.
Complete with owner's manual, this offers all the right vintage
looks and all the best modern amenities. So no matter if you need a
practical classic or just want the coolest tailgater, this
Roadmaster fits everything, including your budget. Call
