Like new! 1997 BMW Z3 (2.8) Collectible – Only 35k miles! If you want a classic version of a Z3, this is it! Beautiful smooth body, low miles, new tires and a clean title!
This sports car is powered by a 6 cylinder, naturally aspirated engine. In keeping with BMW’s bragging rights for secure and nimble handling, this roadster boasts BMW’s responsive steering and 5 speed manual transmission.
This shapely classic car has a flawless mirror-like Arctic Silver finish topped with a black convertible top in like-new condition, outfitted with four brand new Michelin tires ready to grab onto the road. The big engine under the hood hefts a lot of power relative to its smaller sized chassis so this luxury roadster rides its V6 like a silver rocket.
The service repair guys at the local BMW dealership looked over this car and commented that it was the best example of a vintage Z3 they had seen. It's been driven minimally. This sports coupe was purchased from world famous Beverly Hills BMW where it was maxed-out with all features available at that time including Lo-Jack and a high-end stereo with 6CD changer and cassette player. The car cost $42,000 out the dealer-door and still has its original registration sticker.
Clean CarFax. MINT exterior! No dents, scratches or hazing. This babied beauty was purchased as a gift to its one female owner and has been garaged in Beverly Hills its whole pampered life in perpetually pleasant, sunny, but cool, SoCal weather. The mechanics and body of this car have suffered no desert heat, no snow salt or cold, nor rain rust damage issues as found affecting cars in the rest of the country. No engine repairs were ever needed.
The car interior is rated as excellent: Its (real) black leather seats, black carpet and interior seems to still have that new car smell with no stains on carpet or upholstery, and minimal signs of wear. This two-seater coupe was a non-smoking, child-free car, that never had meals eaten in it or Starbucks. After all, it only has 35k miles, so in a sense it has about 2.5 years or so of use because the average car is usually driven about 15k miles a year. Not as perfect as a brand-new car, but close. It would be nice to see this BMW enjoy a new owner who will appreciate its long-term collectible potential.
The BMW Z3 was debuted in the James Bond movie, Golden Eye. The ’96 car that was actually filmed had a far less powerful 4 cylinder engine, skimpy hips, and in the less popular blue color with tan interior that soon shows dirt. However, the car in the movie actually looks silver at first glance. So the next year, BMW made THIS car in 1997, which is a superior animal: beefed-up with a 6 cylinder engine and given the most popular and sellable color combination: molten Arctic Silver w/ a black leather interior. People on the street have pointed at this car as the sexy and curvaceous Z3 from the James Bond film.
This is a naturally aspirated sports car, which are no longer manufactured. They offered high responsiveness and made repairs less likely than today’s recent move to turbo engines. Cognoscenti auto aficionados lament the end of naturally aspirated engines and try to buy them when given a choice. Here's a chance! This is a low-use car that is poised to enjoy a future as a long-lived Z3 classic.
