For Sale: 1986 Ford F150 in Surprise, Arizona

Vehicle Description

Selling my beautiful F-150 XLT Lariat. With 5 cars and not enough room something has to go. Since I don’t really “need” a truck I am passing it on to the next lucky owner!

This truck turns heads and gets comments and accolades every time I take it out. It is a true “survivor “ having been pampered since new. The seller I bought it from stated that the original owner used it as his “Cowboy Cadillac” on his farm in Iowa. It must have been kept in a garage or barn since there is NO RUST other than mild surface rust. It doesn’t appear to have ever been driven in winter judging by the very clean and rust-free undercarriage. The truck was repainted by a previous owner. The bright work is in amazing condition with no dents, dings or gouges. To make it look even better I replaced the model insignia badges on both sides.

The engine was upgraded to a performance “347 Stroker” some 3500 miles ago. It has aluminum heads with roller rockers and “Ford Motorsports “ rocker covers, a Wieland intake manifold fed by an Edelbrock AV2 500cfm carburetor, with spark provided by a Mallory Unilite distributor and MSD ignition. A set of headers with a new Magnaflow x-pipe muffler and a CompCam (P/N 35-512-8) cam controls the breathing. All of this extra power is transmitted to the pavement through a 3-speed automatic with a shift kit to limit slippage and a positraction rear end.

This truck drives smooth and straight with no squeaks or rattles. It stops straight, steers easily with the power steering and offers a controlled ride with new shocks.

Although the truck arrived from the factory with dual gas tanks, the rear tank has been removed to save weight. The factory air conditioning components were also removed, and the tachometer, oil pressure and coolant temperature gauges are inoperative (oil and temp monitored by auxiliary gauges). I sourced the A/C mounting hardware and bought and installed all necessary A/C components. It just needs to be connected electrically and charged with R-134 refrigerant.

With only 38,500 miles this truck it is indeed a rare find. Most trucks of this vintage are rusted beyond a cost- effective repair and are usually beat up from being “work” trucks. This truck is unique with its high performance upgrades and attractive good looks. What’s more, as a 1986 model, it qualifies for inclusion in Goodguys events! You can have fun showing off this truck at car shows and Cars & Coffee events!
