For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet Corvette in Mooresville, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

HIGHLIGHTS: Classic C2 Corvette in a killer color combination! Factory red on black car, currently equipped with a 427 big block V8, Vintage A/C, and a 4-speed manual transmission. Clean Florida car sitting on new Vision wheels!

BODY OVERVIEW: The body is clean and straight, with all of the proper emblems and trim still in place and in good condition. It has been repainted, but there are no indications that this car has been fully taken apart or restored.

This is a car that has the classic Corvette look with some modern touches. The curb appeal this little red Corvette has is astounding; there's just something about the red and black that draws a crowd! The current wheels are from Vision Wheel and while they're brand new, they stick to a nice period-correct look. The car has been lowered just a little, and it really helps accent the slick lines of the Corvette body. Obviously, this '65 shouldn't have had the stinger hood but no one can argue with the overall look that it adds to this car and since this car is built to be driven an enjoyed, its a perfect fit.

PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: This Corvette was repainted in its original color at some point long ago, but it was a good quality paint job so it has held up very well over the years. That being said, it does have some noticeable blemishes and touch-up areas throughout. This is what we would describe as a nice driver quality paint job, and a repaint would be needed to make this a show car.

INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The black vinyl interior is in fantastic condition, with the exception of sun damage to the dash pad. The seats, carpet, and headliner are all in excellent condition and it wouldn't be surprising to learn that some portions of the interior had been refinished previously.

MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood sits a 427 Chevrolet V8, which is of course hooked up to a 4-speed manual transmission. This car is a dream to drive, and really captures the spirit of the Corvette. With a nice aluminum radiator and aftermarket A/C system, this is truly a driver's car!

The engine dates to 1969 and is a real factory 427 V8 that is stamped with the suffix LD, which means it left the factory as a 427/425hp SHP (Special High Performance). It wears the sought after 3935439 casting and also has the correct HP heads as well. While it is hard to say for sure if this is a factory big block car or not, there are a few attributes that indicate it may be. This Corvette has the big block specific cast iron axle caps, a rear sway bar, and the battery access panel is in the left fender.

WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The curb appeal due to the vibrant red paint and the modified stance. As well as the aftermarket A/C, power steering and big block power under your foot.

WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: The sun damaged dash could stand to be replaced and the older paint job is showing its age.

DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? This car is turn-key as it sits, but a new dash pad would go a long way.

WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? This Corvette is for any buyer looking for a gorgeous classic 'Vette with curb appeal that they can drive regularly without having to worry about keeping it looking showroom fresh. If you are looking for a numbers matching factory big block C2, you will probably not be interested in this car.
