Vehicle Description
1975 Cadillac Eldorado
In west Philadelphia born and raised, on the playground was where I
spent most of my days. Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool....
And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school. When a couple of
guys who were up to no good, started making trouble in my
neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared...
she said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'.
For consignment a summation of mid-seventies design and style. An
amalgamation of big steel and Monticello velour that will make your
eyes spin and hide any stain you can think of. So, whether you're
pimpin' or limping', killing' or chillin' this big and bad Caddy
will certainly have you stylin'. A one owner car with an amazing
29,290 original verified miles, and temperature-controlled garage
kept since 1987.
Exterior
Cerise Firemist drapes rust free steel panels and is original
paint. A minor dent in the front quarter is mostly the only fault
on the car. Bumper fillers have been replaced and show slightly
darker than the remainder of the body. The rest of the body
trimmings is all nice chrome and brite-work with no rust or
dimpling to be seen. A white vinyl hardtop nearly perfectly
preserved tops this piece of Detroit iron off. On all 4 corners are
new thin whitewall tires as well as a new spare.
Interior
Just unbelievably crazy in Dark Crimson Monticello velour
broadcloth covers all seats. These couches are powered on the
drivers and passengers' sides. Red plastic surrounds envelop the
cloth, and all of this is in fantastic condition. A bolster pillow
is thrown in with the rear bench and my mind runs as wild as the
pattern as to what to do with this! Beautiful thick pile red carpet
floods the floors and hanging above in front is the all original
red padded vinyl dash with highlighting wood applique instrument
surrounds. A red original no cracks or even dirt on steering wheel
fronts the dash. On the red vinyl covered door panels we note power
window toggles, power locks, and a side mirror toggle. Above all
this menagerie is a tight red headliner.
Drivetrain
With myself and 2 other dedicated Classic Auto Mall employees we
lifted the hood (I'm being facetious) and we were met with 500
cubes of GM V8 in unrestored condition. Some rust and corrosion is
seen on all parts where the exterior and interior has fared better
than the engine. However, it runs fab, has a 4-barrel carb atop, a
THM-425 3-speed automatic on back with a 2.73 axle.
Undercarriage
Plenty of surface rust abounds but all remains structurally sound.
Floor pans are mostly rust free as are rockers. A newer exhaust
system has been installed. Torsion bar suspension provides the ride
for the front, and 4 link with coil springs for the rear. Power
disc brakes are also on the front and power drum brakes on the
rear.
Drive-Ability
I felt like a mafia kingpin on top of the world upon slipping into
this large and in charge automobile. The car started right up,
idled with a whisper, and shifted into gear effortlessly. It is a
wonderful cruiser and has good acceleration. All the trappings of
conveniences which abound in this car were in working order.
Dripping with mid 70's styling and color, this 1 owner automobile
still puts out on the luxury and style it was built to do. A great
boulevard cruiser, impressive conveniences, and low miles, a
classic in its own right. It actually grows on you. Come to Classic
Auto Mall and see if a seed gets planted.
