This is a rare 20th anniversary edition Riviera that has many unique features which were exclusive to this limited edition model. It is 1 of 500 Coupes built - 2 convertibles were also built and used as the official pace cars at the 1983 Indy 500. This is the finest original example we've seen in 20 years. Only 6,500 miles since new and it's all original including the unique Uniroyal Royal Seal tires with a single gold stripe. Uniroyal made these tires specifically for this car. The exterior features special paint, custom color-keyed wire wheels, a unique hood ornament, special bumper rub strips in brown with a gold stripe, all the bright work is trimmed in brown, special gold anniversary emblems and color-keyed headlamp bezels. Buick went all out on the interior with genuine walnut dash and door panel trim, special stitched leather door panels, unique walnut and leather steering wheel, leather seats with suede inserts and special cut pile dark brown carpet. Buick continued the special appointments in the trunk which is fully carpeted in dark brown with a trunk liner on the underside of the trunk lid that features an embroidered anniversary script. The original books, manuals, bill of sale and build sheet are included along with a letter from Uniroyal with instructions on how to order a replacement tire. So often special edition models consist of little more than a custom stripe and decal package. That's hardly the case with the 20th anniversary Riviera.
