Vehicle Description
This stunning 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is certified as authentic
by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish of Camaro Hi-Performance (report is
included). It has been restored to show-quality standards
throughout. This car retains its original hidden VIN tag, VIN cowl
stamping and trim tag. This car was built on the third week of
April 1969 at the Los Angeles factory with the following options:
76-E - Daytona Yellow with black stripes, C08 - vinyl top, D55 -
console, D80 - spoiler equipment, G80 - posi-traction/4.10 ratio,
J52 - disc brakes, M20 - 4-speed manual transmission, NC8 -
chambered exhaust system (probably added to car), N33 - tilt
steering column, N34 - wood steering wheel, N34 - power steering,
U17- special instrumentation, U63 - AM radio, ZK3 - deluxe seat
belts, Z21 - style trim group, Z28 - special engine and equipment
package and Z87 - deluxe houndstooth interior. The information
gathered shows this car spent its entire life in Arizona. Prior to
the restoration it was a very solid car, retaining the original
sheet metal and its original matching-numbers DZ 302 V8 engine,
along with its original matching-numbers rear axle. The car went
through a complete nut-and-bolt restoration. Everything on this car
has been restored or replaced. The car was born with a flat hood,
and during the restoration a cowl hood was added. Also during the
restoration the decision was made to change the color of the
stripes from black to white, which looks amazing. The exterior body
of this car is very straight with very nice gap lines throughout.
It was finished in the original Daytona Yellow, which looks
stunning - especially with the white stripes and white vinyl top.
The paint is beautiful and has been detailed to brilliant shine.
Jerry MacNeish refers to the paint as "excellent" in his report.
The front and rear glass was replaced new. The side glass is
original and in very nice condition. Everything on the exterior
looks beautiful, such as the stainless trim, wipers, front grille,
headlights, emblems, door handles, bumpers, taillights, etc. It
sits on the correct 15-inch Rally wheels wrapped with Goodyear Wide
Tread GT E70-15 tires. The exterior is complemented with a fully
restored houndstooth interior. Jerry MacNeish's report stated this
is a "very rare color combination for a Z28" and refers to it as
"excellent." Everything, including the clock, is in working order,
with exception of the AM radio. This car is equipped with power
steering, which works great. The trunk compartment is nicely
detailed with a spare tire, tools and trunk mat. The engine
compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts.
Jerry MacNeish refers to the engine bay as "excellent" in his
report. The car is powered by its original matching numbers DZ302
V8 engine, which was rebuilt and runs excellent. The engine
breathes through factory manifolds and a correct-style exhaust
system that sounds awesome. It has the correct tailpipe adaptor
plate on the rear left side frame rail with factory spot welds. The
engine is coupled to a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission with
P9A31 assembly date and "660" case. This transmission has no VIN,
which indicates it was a service replacement. The transmission was
rebuilt and shifts very nicely. The power is transferred to the
pavement through the original matching-numbers 12-bolt axle with
posi and 4.10 gear ratio. The rear end was rebuilt and works as it
should. The undercarriage is highly detailed throughout with many
correct parts. Jerry MacNeish refers to the undercarriage as
"excellent" in his report. The floors and trunk floor are original
to the car, with only minor dents and no signs of prior rust. The
power braking system and suspension system was all redone. This car
runs and drives as good as it looks. This car has recently been
serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice that is
included.
