Vehicle Description
This 1949 Mercury Monarch is a complete custom restoration. It has
four doors, but has the appearance of a 2-door car. The front doors
are from an original 2-door Mercury Monarch. The rear doors are
custom suicide doors. The top is chopped 4 inches and the whole
body of the car is sliced off 4 inches. The car is 9 inches lower
than an original 1949 Mercury Monarch. It is powered by an LS1
Chevrolet Corvette 5.7-liter V8 engine and is mated to a Chevrolet
4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission. It has an air suspension
controlled with Dakota Digital instruments, 4-link rear suspension
and a tubular frame. The exterior is finished in a two-tone clear
coat/base coat burgundy red and metallic beige, and the rear window
is from a 1949 Dodge Deluxe. It has electric-commanded shaved
doors, without handles, with custom manual handles hidden under
each side mirror. The license plate is remotely retractable to be
hidden under the bumper, and the gas tank is made of aluminum. The
beige interior features Ultraleather, bucket seats, Garmin GPS,
USB/iPod Pioneer premier radio with four Clarion speakers, tilt and
telescopic steering wheel, Classic Instruments dashboard dials and
a floor-mounted shifter. The car also features power windows, power
steering, power brakes, air conditioning, electric pedals and disc
brakes at each wheel. It rides on staggered American Racing wheels,
17-inch front and 20-inch rear. Winner of the 2015 Winfield Award
at the Syracuse Nationals car show. The trophy is included with the
car. **TITLE IN TRANSIT**
