1946 Ford Woody Super Deluxe Wagon
The significance of the 1946 Woody is that it was the first year that the US started making cars again. In 1943-45 steel was being used for the war effort, hence when production began again, the use of wood.
This Woody has been in our family for over 53-years. We purchased it from my mother a few years after my father passed away in 1980. My father purchased the car from regular customers at our family-owned/run Shell service station. Since owned by my family, she has always been stored in the garage.
The Woody is unrestored and is a good original example.
The odometer reads 3,813. Since I've owned it (1984), I estimate we put on 150 miles. In 2001, we used it at my son's wedding as the “get-a-way” car. She fires right up! Sounds great.
