1947 Ford Custom Convertible C-476 This 1947 Ford convertible can
be classified as a "Super Custom One-Of-A-Kind". This custom has
been featured in "Good Guys", "Street Rodder" and featured twice (a
feat rarely afforded to only a rare few of the top elite world
class vehicles) in the prestigious "Rodders Journal." With a
certified appraisal stating build replacement costs at $400,000 -
$500,000, this is truly a quality collector vehicle. Renowned GM
Stylist/Designer Harry Bradley designed the concept of this custom.
The features of the build are endless, highlights are: -1951 Kaiser
front grill, custom modified to fit. -1952 Studebaker windshield,
chopped. -G.E. Marine spotlight headlights. -Flush rear taillights.
-Extensive body modifications. -Hand formed moldings and trims,
flush mount fitted into body. -Formed and fabricated dash with 1961
Chrysler center mount cluster with custom integrated gauges. Dash
features custom machined dash knobs. -Side mirrors integrated into
the dash. -Custom cast steering wheel by J.B. Donaldson of Phoenix
AZ. -1965 Cadillac tilt-telescopic steering column. -Front fender
skirts that automatically actuate open/close when steering around
corners or curves. -1966 Buick Rivera front seats, custom narrowed
4" then covered with Oyster leather and green Ultrasuede inserts.
Flooring covered with bone wool carpeting. Upholstery was done by
Warren Morimoto of Long Beach CA. -The removable top is custom
formed over an original clay buck mold to fit the body then layered
up with fiberglass then the back glass was curved and cut from a
donor windshield. The headliner is covered in Oyster Ultrasuede
matching the seats. -1968 Chevelle front and rear clips were mated
to the chassis that was strengthened with 2"x5" rectangular tube
side rails. -Front suspension includes 1968 Chevelle A-arms, Pro
Shocks coil-overs, 1968 Chevelle sway bar and steering. -Front
wheelcovers are billet aluminum custom machined by Don Gyra,
reminiscent of the 1953 Cadillac style but fabricated 2" larger
diameter, finished with Cadillac logo emblems by McVey. -Rear
suspension is 1968 Chevelle rear end with 3.42:1 ring and pinion,
air shocks with on-board pump, 1968 Chevelle coil springs,
triangulated 4-bar and sway bar. -Rear wheels are S-10 centers,
5-1/2x15 rims by McLean with Chevy pickup beauty rings. -Tires on
all corners are P205/65R15 BFG Touring T/A radials. -Brakes are
1968 Chevelle with front disc and rear drum with ECI Corvette dual
power master cylinder. -A 1970 Cadillac Eldorado 500ci big block
engine was bored .060 over then matched with a 10.0:1 compression
Clay Smith hydraulic cam with 0.525 lift, hardened exhaust seats,
stock intake manifold. -Chromed 1951 Caddy valve covers with
machined aluminum adaptors, HEI ignition and a 4-barrel carb was
then topped with a 1953 Cadillac air cleaner. -Engine package and
machine work by Scotten Racing Engines with final engine assembly
by Dave Jewell of San Diego CA. -The GM Turbo 400 transmission and
converter is stock. -Griffin 2 row aluminum radiator. -Chrome and
polishing by Christianson Plating, Vernon CA. -2" tubing exhaust
with Flowmaster mufflers. -Rock Valley polished fuel tank. -Vintage
A/C. -Sony AM/FM/CD with external speakers fitted into package
tray. -Finished exterior paint is PPG dark green basecoat with
pearl; covered with PPG candy green with clear urethane clear
