Vehicle Description
Big Block Chevelle. Those are magic words and music to the ears of
enthusiasts the world over. A 1970 big block Chevelle is considered
by many to be the epitome of American muscle. It's as good as gold.
This Autumn Gold example was lovingly restored with extra attention
lavished on the mechanicals. Yes, the gorgeous gold paint is new,
as is the chrome, carpeting, and door panels. The frame was
sandblasted then coated with POR-15. On this car, though, you'll
find all new suspension components, a new heavy duty oil pump, all
new stainless fuel lines and brake lines, new wiper motor and
washer, new steering box, all new bushings in the transmission, and
of course the engine was freshened up. This one will be a pleasure
to drive! If you've ever built a car, or even worked on one, you'll
be impressed with all the new parts, nuts and bolts, clamps, hoses,
and wiring. Open and close the doors. Perfect. Lots of restored
cars have new interior pieces, but this one stands out with
outstanding fit and finish along with full functionality. Talk
about the Heartbeat of America! Your pulse is sure to rise when you
take in the pristine black bucket seats, center console, and full
rallye dash with tach. Everything's here. Then climb aboard. A new
tilt steering column and 3-spoke wheel greets you along with the
correct Hurst shifter. Power trios make great music. Rush, Led
Zeppelin, Queen, ZZTop, and U2 come to mind. A 396/350hp big black,
Muncie M20 4-speed, and 3.31 12 bolt posi make up the chart topping
power trio on this great automobile. A set of full-length headers
and twin Pro-Flo mufflers deliver the sound of power. All the
visuals come with it as well. Black SS stripes, rallye wheels, dual
chrome exhaust tips, and the trademark SS rear bumper - and that
awesome Cowl Induction hood and the iconic badges - leave no doubt
that this is a 1970 Chevelle SS396, one of the most desirable
models in the collector car world. Extensive photo records of the
restoration come with it, including that key moment with the newly
painted frame, engine, and wheels. Each body panel is shown. An
amazingly small amount of filler was used to bring the sheetmetal
to showable levels of goodness. A huge stack of receipts document
the quality of the parts and labor. The original owner's manual and
its bag are here. Plus, the complete 1970 Chevelle, El Camino, and
Monte Carlo Assembly Manual, along with past model information from
the Chevrolet Hobby & Sales Group. Do you get the idea that the
previous owner loved this car? This is a rare opportunity to
acquire an SS396 4-speed that has been lovingly restored and cared
for. At this point, it's no surprise to find a quality car cover in
the trunk. A spare tire cover too. This car could be just the one
you've been waiting for. Give us a call.
