The stunning 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Roadster featured here is finished in the factory color combination of Astral Silver Metallic over an unrestored Royal Blue leather interior with matching Dark Blue folding convertible top and Astral Silver removable factory hardtop. This particular example was sold new in September 1988 through Continental Motors to a family who took exceptional care of the Mercedes-Benz until 2018! Today the 560SL presents in largely original condition while a mere 35,117 miles are present on the odometer; a number which is confirmed actual by the accompanying CarFax report. In the spring of 2018 the marque specialists at Classic Motor Car Service in Connecticut performed an extensive engine out service including an engine reseal, cooling system service with water pump, timing chain and tensioner replacement, major tune-up, brake service and more. The accompanying service invoice is in excess of $11,500 which was invested by the son of the vehicles original owner. With documented low mileage and a recent major service completed this stunning 560SL Roadster, from the penultimate year of 107 model production, is now ready to be driven and enjoyed by its next collector or enthusiast owner. Classic cars have proven to be among the most resilient and rewarding investments in recent years with the Historic Automobile Group Index (HAGI) jumping 39% in 2013, 16% in 2014 and 17% in 2015 while posting gains of 467% over the last 10 years. Four of the Paul Walker Collection cars went across the block Thursday at Barrett-Jackson, and got a premium at the hammer, proving that star-power provenance matters. A tuned 2009 Nissan 370Z, a 1989 Nissan R32 Skyline track car, a 1995 Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Explorer and a 1967 Nova custom coupe did far better than […]

The RM Sothebys Arizona Aucion is one of the two really big catalog auctions on offer this week. Historically, RM Sotheby’s has offered many high dollar — think over a million of those dollars — cars as well as a number of cars at the aspirational end of the market. The auction company also has […]
