First generation Chevelles are becoming more and more difficult to
find in their original condition. But every so often, we get
surprised. Art & Speed is pleased to present what we believe to be
a unusually nice 1965 Malibu SS Convertible.
This genuine 13867 code convertible appears to have undergone a
restoration at some point in its life, but the originality and
completeness is remarkable. It would have been so easy to drop a
big block or other alternative powerplant, but this car still
retains the original configuration as when new. The only
modification we can find is that the exterior paint was originally
White, but has been changed to a stunning bright red. With
remarkably straight body panels and gaps, the body is so beautiful
I think I would have done the same!
The original 283 V8 and PowerGlide Automatic are period perfect for
this car. The car starts easily, drives smoothly and feels as
though it would have when new. Smooth power steering, beautiful
upholstery and carpets make for a nice driving environment. And
when you want open air, the power convertible top operates smoothly
to bring in the fresh air.
Nice glass, excellent chrome and brightwork, high-gloss red finish,
they all combine to create a Malibu SS anyone would be proud to
own. And this one comes with its original Protecto-Plate and
warranty papers. Ready to drive or show, don't miss this chance as
cars of this quality and perfect patina don't come along often.
