this car.
Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this 1979 Corvette in
spectacular condition and with the high performance L82 engine and
only 57,430 original miles. This Corvette looks fantastic, runs
great, and is an excellent driver. The car is totally solid with
nice lines and no rust issues. The Silver (13) over Oyster (12) is
a beautiful color combination that looks great on the car. It is
also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes
on the trim tag, which is pictured below. This Corvette is verified
as an original and correct L82 model by the fifth digit of the VIN,
which is a "4" indicating the L82 engine. A standard Corvette will
have an "8" in this spot.
Besides the high performance L82 engine and beautiful color
combination this Corvette is absolutely loaded with desirable
options as one can see in the extensive list of RPO codes such as
N90 aluminum wheels, glass T-Tops, 8-Track stereo radio, power
windows, power locks, power antenna, and a/c.
We first purchased this Corvette in 2016. We then sold it to a
gentleman in Kentucky later that year when the car had 55,523
miles. We just purchased the car back from the same gentleman with
57,420 miles.
This Corvette is ready to used and enjoyed. The low original
mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also
the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as
"Actual" as well as the documentation and records that come with
the car. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and information in
this ad to get a true sense of how nice and clean this L82 Corvette
really is.
There are a great amount of records shown in the photos totaling
over $16,500 for maintenance and repairs over the years. There are
receipts pictured totaling almost $11,000 including one receipt for
$3,991.96 from the Chevrolet dealer for a new engine when the car
had 49,284 miles. Many of the receipts also have the mileage
recorded so they are also another great verification of the low
original mileage on the car. The previous owner is still looking
for the original copies of the receipts, but we do have the photos
of them from when we first sold the car in 2016. Additionally,
there are many receipts included with the car from the most
previous owner. Those receipts are all from the last three years
and total over $5,600.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come
from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give
the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Corvette, just give us a call.
Model Description
"The Corvette evolution continues" announced the slogan from the
1979 Corvette sales catalog. The L48 engine received the
dual-snorkel air intake introduced in 1978 for the optional L82
V-8, which added 10 horsepower. All Corvettes in 1979 now had the
high-back bucket seats introduced on the 1978 limited-edition
Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. A higher pivot point allowed the seat
backrest fold more flat and level with the luggage area floor,
which drastically improved access to the rear storage area.
Exterior
The Silver exterior is in fantastic driver condition. As one can
see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and
smooth finish. Both door open and shut nicely. The N90 aluminum
wheels and center caps are in beautiful condition with a brilliant
finish and no curb rash. The BF Goodrich Radial TA tires are almost
brand new with less than 200 miles on them and are correctly sized
255/60R15. There is a receipt with the car from May 13, 2019 for
new tires showing the mileage at the time was 57,268 miles. There
are a few small marks that have been touched up and some other tiny
blemishes around car that were too small to show up in pictures,
but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten
feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of
the car, it is very clean and this Corvette has absolutely NO RUST
ISSUES. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key
hole" are in front of the rear tire and I have seen no evidence of
corrosion around the windshield, which are the two most notorious
spots for rust on a C3 Corvette.
Window Date Codes
Windshield - UA - The "U" is July and the "U" is 1979 so this
window is original, made in July of 1979. This is correct as it
predates the build date of the car.
Driver's Window - IA - The "I" is June and the "A" is 1979 so this
window is original, made in June of 1979. This is correct as it
predates the build date of the car.
Passenger Window - IA - The "I" is June and the "A" is 1979 so this
window is original, made in June of 1979. This is correct as it
predates the build date of the car.
Rear Window - IA - The "I" is June and the "A" is 1979 so this
window is original, made in June of 1979. This is correct as it
predates the build date of the car.
Please note that all of the windows on this Corvette, the
windshield, both door windows, and the rear window are all date
coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date
of August 3, 1979 (M03). Original glass is a good indication that
this car has had no major accident history and never sustained
significant damage.
Interior
The Oyster interior in this Corvette is in spectacular original
condition. The seats are in excellent condition with no excessive
wear and look just as good in person as they do in the photos.
Please note that these are the original seats and skins, not some
cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. This is especially
important on this car because this style of seat is no longer is
made and replacements are not available. The gauge faces are clean
and crisp and the lenses are clear. The carpet is excellent
condition with no stains, rips, or holes. This includes the rear
carpet, which is often neglected. The door panels are in wonderful
shape overall and, unlike many Corvettes of this age, they fit well
and tight to the door. The dash and console look awesome with no
cracks or sun fading. There is one small spot of wear on the
driver's side door panel; as one can see in the photos it is hardly
noticeable. The door pulls are solid and intact. The jack and jack
handle are still with the car, stored correctly behind the
passenger seat, and pictured in this ad showing the original decals
on the compartment lid. The original spare is still with the car
and has never been used. This Corvette has never been smoked in;
there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well,
especially with a light color like Oyster, and the excellent
condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the
meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its
life and another great verification of the very low original
mileage.
Mechanical
This L82 Corvette seems to be in excellent mechanical condition. As
stated above the engine in the car only has about 8,000 miles on it
and was installed by...for more information please contact the
