Vehicle Description
1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne C10 Pickup
One of the most popular line of pickups ever made was the Chevrolet
C10s. The C/K series was first started in 1959 and many would argue
the 2nd generation from 67-72 have the biggest following. Whatever
generation you prefer there is no doubting that they are great
looking trucks. This 72 is a Super Cheyenne C10 and is without a
doubt one of the nicest examples of these trucks on the road. This
thing received a full frame off custom build which transformed it
into a pro touring machine that runs just as smoothly as your brand
new pickup. It was built in honor of the owners father and father
in law. His father, AM Warrick, was one of the few survivors from
the USS Arizona which sank during the attack on Pearl Harbor in
1941. His father in law was a fighter pilot during the Pearl Harbor
attacks and also survived. We realize that this isn't a specific
feature about the truck but goes to say how much care and quality
was put into the build. You will actually see that the glove box
door features some custom airbrushing about these two heroes. The
owner would like to hold onto the glove box door in memory of his
family members but a new door has already been purchased and will
be installed for whomever buys the truck. From front to rear the
truck is nearly perfect in everyway and not a single bolt was left
untouched during the build. It was built by Marcs Customs out of
Fort Worth which are known well in the area for some of their pro
touring custom build. The truck sits on a Roadster Shop custom
chassis and the undercarriage is just as solid and immaculate as
the top. The body is laser straight and painted in a beautiful
Hammerhead Silver. The fit and finish of the body is top notch. The
front end is actually from a 69 and although the grill/headlight
set up is the stock style the bumpers have been painted to match
the body. The door handles have been inset into the doors which is
a nice touch. The tailgate is custom as well and everything just
works together to create the ultimate tough but sleek look. The bed
is just absolutely gorgeous with custom wood throughout. We just
can't say enough how tasteful and well done this truck is. It rides
on Budnik Crown wheels which tie in the perfect amount of Grey and
shine.
The truck wins awards wherever it goes and this year alone (2019)
has won an Autorama award for its class as well as outstanding
engine plus a builders choice at Goodguys. These are the biggest
shows in the area.
With a look like that exterior you can bet this thing is packing a
little something special under the hood. When we say this thing is
pro touring we don't just mean it has a modern crate motor or your
standard 350/350 set up. This thing is running down the road with a
Magnus supercharged LS3 that offers all the power and reliability
you could ask for. If you just want to comfortably cruise down the
highway it responds perfectly but when you feel it is time to spin
the tires it is ready for it as well. The engine compartment and
motor are all show ready too so after you have had your fun driving
you can pull into the show and be guaranteed a trophy. Whether it
is small local car cruise ins or big indoor shows this thing is a
frequent winner. It has a nice chrome valve covers, a Concept One
pulley system, and American Autowire harness. The transmission is a
Phoenix automatic and moves through the gears nice and
smoothly.
The interior was done by Paul Atkins out of Alabama who is well
known throughout the country for his custom interiors. If it
doesn't go home with a best truck award it often leaves with the
best interior. It is done in Red and from the leather material to
the double stitching and diamond door inserts you can tell it is
high quality. There is easily $20K-$30K in the interior alone. The
bucket seats sit nicely to each side of a fully custom built center
console that houses cupholders and the new shifter. The dash has a
custom made Red pad on top and also incorporates some of the silver
paint. All of the dash components have been replaced and everything
works.
If you are looking for a one of a kind custom that is freshly built
and ready to drive anywhere you have to come see this thing in
person. Make sure you are ready to buy though because once you hear
and see it run in person you aren't going to want to leave without
it.
