Vehicle Description
HIGHLIGHTS: 1996 Ford Mustang Cobra in amazing shape. Factory black
on black coupe with 4.6L DOHC V8, 5-speed manual, short throw
shifter, true cold air intake and only 22,004 miles! Ton of
originality including factory markings still on a lot of original
components. Clean Car Fax and Show Worthy!
BODY OVERVIEW: Appears to be in #1 condition, all original panels
that still wear the VIN sticker for this car.
This car is laser straight! Not easy to accomplish on an all black
vehicle. All the panels appear to be original as they are still
wearing the vin sticker that matches the vin in the window. The
additional stickers under the hood and in the doors are all still
there from when it left the factory. The nose shows little to no
wear. No major rock chips, debris, or evidence of any repair
work.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Appears to be original paint, no tape or
blend lines present. Stickers are not painted over under the hood
or in the doors. Very little wear on the front nose. It looks like
a 22k mile car should.
Ask any painter and they'll tell you that black is the toughest to
paint. Which is also why its so easy to tell when a black car has
been repainted. The evidence on this car points to it still wearing
the original coat of black paint that it left the Ford factory with
back in '96. Under the hood or in the doors show no tape lines or
blend marks. The bottom of the front nose is showing enough small
debris from 22k miles worth of driving that it appears to be
original as well. Under our showroom lights it is near flawless and
has already started to garner people's attention.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Original factory black leather
interior, no rips or tears, no cracking in dash, and the gauges
look brand new. Driver's seat is showing the normal wrinkles and
cracks in the leather that is typical with 23-year old leather.
Not much bad to say about the interior at all. It is unbelievably
preserved and continues the theme that someone took care of this
car! The factory gauges are clean as could be. The dash has no
cracks that would point to a life in the sun and the leather is in
great shape. If you look in the photos of the driver's seat you'll
see how it does have that nice, inviting, aged look thanks to the
normal cracks in the leather that come from time. For a 23 year old
interior, it's in great shape!
MECHANICALS OVERVIEW: Factory 4.6L DOHC V8 that still holds the
factory chalk marks on the engine. It has been outfitted with a
tasteful cold air intake and the transmission has a short-throw
shifter.
Pop open the hood and you'll be greeted by a fully detailed engine
bay that is stuffed with a 4.6L DOHC V8 and a 5-speed manual
transmission. Look closely and you'll be amazed like we were that
the engine still wears the factory paint markings on most of its
components. The engine has been equipped with an BBK Cold Air
Intake, but beyond that its extremely original. The look is
finished off thanks to a new set of 17" Cobra Chrome wheels.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The overall originality of this
car is staggering.Much like the generation before, this model was
always highly modified by their owners. But this car only received
tasteful upgrades throughout its life and the fact that it only has
22,000 miles on it is just amazing. These cars are a blast to
drive, provide a killer look and packs a 0-60mph time of 5 flat...
Where else can you get that for this price!
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: Not much... But, the case could
be made that if you are in the market for this generation, this car
is so highly original that you might feel a tad guilty putting
miles on it.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Absolutely not!
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? You will be interested in this
car if you are looking for a Mustang, but don't want your run of
the mill GT. If you are the kind that enjoy showing off your ride,
you want a car that you can proudly display at your local car
shows, but also take to a big all-FORD show and take home survivor
awards. If you aren't in to shows, you are looking for a highly
original Mustang that needs nothing and has a killer color
combo.
