classic Standard Oil liveries, this 1951 Chevrolet Tanker Hot Rod
is a stand-out, even when it?s standing still! This truck used to
complement the handsome restored 1930?s Standard Oil Service
station located in Red Bud, Illinois. A true one-of-a-kind custom
build, this truck was originally made in GM?s Tonawanda, New York
factory in December 1950 as a two-ton dually grain truck. Now, with
its classic patina, inside and out, this truck is guaranteed to
generate interest and attention wherever you take it. The blue hood
and cab plus the red tank evoke the classic look and the paints?
patina enhances the effect. An added external sun visor completes
the look. Mounted in the rear is a authentic tanker from the 1930?s
with a Nibco T-134 tank valve with dual fuel hoses and handles.
Under the hood is a Chevrolet 283 CID V-8 engine (code: T626D) with
dual Holley Quad carburetors, tunnel ram air intake and dual
exhaust. It?s mated to a Turbo Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic
transmission. This truck has been upgraded with power brakes! A
must on this big rig! The rear features a two speed high and low
rear axle. This truck rolls on Fidelity Front Runner XLW wide
whitewalls, size 8.25-20 at every corner. Each tire is mounted on
heavy duty steel, vented wheels painted red. In back are a chrome
bumper, lights and mudflaps courtesy of the Chrome Shop Mafia.
Inside, the truck?s red bench seat looks great while an insulated
headliner arcs above the driver?s head. A three-spoke steering
wheel faces the driver and it, the instrument panel with a full
array of gauges, and inner doors reek of patina but the amp gauge
and wipers are inoperable. A floor-mounted shifter for the
automatic transmission completes the interior. This is a special
vehicle and it has no clones so the driver never need worry that he
would find another one like it at a cruise night event or a car
show. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today to check out this ?51
