This California El Camino is in very good non-restored condition. Other than its use for personal transportation, the car had been garaged, as it is to date. The car is in its stock/original condition with no restoration having been done. It has a very straight body and bed with no dents and only a few minor nicks in the paint. The grill, chrome trim and glass are in great shape. The 283 V8 with its 2 speed powerglide transmission still runs good. The engine was rebuilt several years ago, as well as having one repaint in the original color. No power accessories; manual windows, brakes, steering. Interior trim and seat could use some tender loving care. Consider this car as a blank canvas for its new owner to put their own personal touches on it, or enjoy as-is.
This El Camino was purchased new off the lot by my dad in 1965. It was his personal vehicle and he was easily recognized in the community as the owner/driver of this classic car. I loved this car growing up and it was the car in which I first learned to drive out on the country roads around our house. I remember to this day the first time I got to take the car out solo. What a joy! It was when my dad passed away at the age of 90 in 2015 that I took ownership of the car. It’s been garaged since then, and now with a heavy heart I’ve concluded its time to find a new owner that will enjoy it as much as our entire family has.
