1971 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron 4DR Hardtop. 80,000 miles. I purchased it in 2011. Bought it from a man in Florida and had it shipped here to Long Beach. It was originally from Minnesota as I understand it. Honey Dew w/ black vinyl top (in good condition) and beautiful black leather interior. It was originally specially ordered. It has all the usual power options: brakes, seats, windows, locks, trunk, etc. and the rare rear seat heater option. The headlight doors open and close. Have original Monroney label, manuals, service receipts, etc.
The sheet metal is pretty solid with some rust issues that I can point out and it recently underwent several mechanical updates (brakes, fuel system, new radial tires (including spare), gas tank replaced, carb rebuilt, etc.). Has personalized CA plates now, Overall in very good shape! Installed new auto AC servo and it is working properly. Didn't replace the blower motor at this time but now have the part. However, more work needed to heater/AC system inside the car. Power not getting to the system properly (intermittent). Need to take off the dash for further repairs, blower motor installation, etc. Also have a NOS AC vacuum switch for the auto temp system. The rust issues are in the lower area of the rear quarters at the bottom (not visible from photos) and a rust hole in the left side rear passenger door sill. My understanding is that it is all easily fixable based on a review of the car by the person who completely restored my 1963 Imperial, which had several rust issues.
I am choosing not to further restore it (other than the mechanical/service stuff noted above) as I don't have an inside place to store it once completed. I bought the car in 2011 and it stayed in my garage from 2012 - 2017 while I was on an out of state job assignment in Houston. It has been driven very little since I purchased it. It is stored outside currently and covered and I now keep my restored 1963 Imperial inside the garage.
