The second generation Mazda RX-7 (model FC), produced from 1986 to
1988, featured a completely restyled look reminiscent of the
Porsche 944.This design strategy was chosen mainly because the
Porsche was a very popular, strong-selling model here in America.
The new FC trended toward a softer, sport-tourer approach, but with
improved handling from the previous RX-7 model. This all-original
1988 Mazda RX-7 GXL coupe appears to have lived a very comfortable
life. The odometer reads just over 30,000 miles. Its factory
Burgundy finish is in very good condition and the original grey
cloth interior includes many convenience features: A/C,
AM/FM/cassette, power tinted windows, anti-theft and cruise
control. This rear-wheel drive Mazda features a naturally aspired
1.3L rotary engine that is said to have never been rebuilt. It
delivers 146bhp and 138lb/ft of torque to a five-speed automatic
gearbox. The RX-7 has rack/pinion power steering, 4-wheel power
disc brakes and Mazda's Dynamic Tracking Suspension System (DTSS).
DTSS control hubs incorporated into the independent rear suspension
are capable of introducing a limited degree of passive rear
steering under cornering loads. Another feature of the RX-7 is the
Auto Adjusting Suspension (AAS) system that adjusts damping
characteristics according to the road and driving conditions.
Finally, 15" factory alloy wheels that appear nearly new mount
Firestone radials. This is a very nice, original RX-7 that will
find a new home shortly. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
