during your time behind the wheel, imagine how cool it would be to
own a car featured in a James Bond movie. MotoeXotica Classic Cars
can help with that; we have a 1998 BMW Z3 M Roadster, similar to
the one in the film, ?Goldeneye? but minus the gadgets from Q
Branch. Since it is one of the M models, it shares the drivetrain,
front suspension and brake system with the legendary M3.This model
is one of 3,296 Z3 models made at BMW?s Greer, South Carolina
factory on July 27, 1998 and came with the following equipment ?
rollover protection, air-conditioning, cruise control, Harman
Kardon high-fidelity stereo system, locking rear differential,
power windows, sports seat, heated buckets, M Sports steering
wheel, power locks, power mirrors and BMW six-disc CD changer. This
car?s dressed in Black, (code 303) and the paint and trim are in
overall excellent condition, with just a few minor blemishes
visible at less than 10 feet. The car?s bodywork is straight and
solid, the engine bay is very tidy, the batter appears new and the
car?s body-colored bumpers are in very good order. Note that the
new, black folding top only operates manually. The car has new
emblems and side marker lights. This Z3 rolls on radials, 235/35R19
in front and 275/30ZR19 at the rear. Each one is mounted on a RPM
snowflake style alloy wheel. The wheels are in very good order
while the tires are in good, original shape.Under the hood is a
potent, 3.2L DOHC inline six-cylinder motor (code S52B32) with
variable valve timing (VVT). The S52 shares more in common with the
regular M52 engine than the S50 did with the M50, for example
sharing the engine block (cast iron, as per North American M52
engines), cylinder head and single VANOS. Unique to the S52 is a
bore of 3.4 inches and stroke of 3.5 inches for a total
displacement of 3,152 cc. Compression ratio is 10.5:1. Other
upgrades over the M52 include lighter camshafts (with increased
lift and duration), valve springs and the exhaust system.Backing up
this engine is a ZF S5-31 five-speed manual transmission. Driver
convenience features include air-conditioning, cruise control,
power rack-and-pinion steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, power
windows, power mirrors, power locks and power mirrors.Inside the
car?s black Nappa leather interior (code Q6SW) is in overall great
shape. The driver?s seat has a new seatbelt buckle and sensor. The
black buckets are heated as well. Behind the seats is an innovative
rollover hoop system. The matching carpet is in similar shape to
the seats while the three-spoke M sports steering wheel looks
great. The instrument panel and inner door panels are in excellent
order and the dashboard features a full array of instruments. The
center console and shifter look great. A Kenwood AM/FM stereo with
CD player and Bluetooth connectivity rounds out the interior. The
Z3M versions were introduced in 1997 in the roadster (M Roadster)
and coup? (M Coup?) body styles. European models were initially
powered by the S50 engine while North American models were powered
by the S52 engine. Models were only available with a five-speed
manual transmission.Compared to the standard Z3, M models featured
a limited slip differential, a wider rear track and larger brakes
(that are shared with the E36 M3). Z3M models have more aerodynamic
wing-mirrors, redesigned front and rear bumpers, revised side gill,
17-inch wheels, quad exhausts and engine and oil temperature gauges
in the center console.Competition to this Z3 in 1998 included Aston
Martin?s DB7 Volant?, BMW?s own M3 Convertible, Chevrolet?s Camaro
Z28 Convertible, Mercedes-Benz?s SL 500 and Pontiac?s Firebird
Trans Am Convertible.Visit MotoeXotica Classic Cars to inspect this
BMW Z3. Even without extra gadgets, it?s still a golden opportunity
that may be gone in the blink of an eye.VIN: WBSCK9332WLC87489This
