1973 Steyr Pueh Pinzguer 712M 6X6 rated for 6,600lbs was a shop truck for the Swiss army until it was decommissioned and brought to US in 2001 to Expedition Imports, Benicia, CA. I bought it in 2002 after multiple alterations were made to it before delivery; larger gas tank added, 110 and 12VDC outlets in all compartments, wiring throughout, external charging port, gas generator, refrigerator, and new external and internal paint job. There are two banks of batteries, one for the vehicle itself, and another runs the 12 and 24VDC systems for equipment. I plug it in at night, or if I am at one place for a long period of time.
This 6 wheel drive truck will go anywhere. It has a set of new tires including a spare; 7 total new tires. It has a recently rebuilt engine and has not been driven much in the last 12 years. This Pinzguer has been maintained by one mechanic in Santa Fe, NM and all records are available for inspection. The actual odometer reading is not accurate as it quit working about 15 years ago. The vehicle was equipped by me to be a mobile urgent care but I transitioned to telemedicine soon after completing it's transformation. It has built-in bookcases in one compartment, about 30 various sized tilt-out wall-mounted storage untis added to the many drawers and covered storage compartments in the main part of the cab.
The truck continues to be licensed and insured.
