Vehicle Description
Representing the very last edition of one of its manufacturer's
most coveted models in sporty, special issue form, this 2002
Cadillac Eldorado ETC Collector's Edition offers quite an
opportunity. In addition to its substantial power and appealing
appearance, there's a ton of value included here. After all, how
often do you come across a car that's so well engineered for both
performance and comfort, has been carefully maintained - with the
paperwork to prove it - and can be had for a mere fraction of its
original price?
By the time this '02 was still in its planning stages, GM had
already decided that the following year would hold the swan song
for its famous nameplate and elected to commemorate the occasion by
manufacturing fewer than 1600 of the cars, all of which were
dressed in either white or Aztec Red, as is the case with this
specimen - a fitting nod to the model's origin in '53, when these
were the only two colors available. The shade on display here is a
real head-turner and is still looking great after more than 17
years - a comprehensive detailing will elevate it even further.
Circle the car and you won't find any flaws of note and the
combination of vibrant paint, shiny rims and clear headlights makes
for an excellent presentation that will no doubt leave an
impression. The sunroof is a definite plus and it's in good working
order.
The interior has a decidedly custom look to it - a nice by-product
of residing inside a special edition car - and shows far less wear
than you'd expect. The power heated buckets are dressed in sharp
two-tone black and red leather covers, matched by the rear bench
seat, and the surrounding door panels, carpet and headliner are all
in excellent condition. Comfort and convenience options tended to
be more plentiful across the board after the turn of the
millennium, and this commemorative Caddy is no exception, so those
heated buckets offer impressive adjustability and are accompanied
by air conditioning that blows nice and cold, power windows and
door locks, cruise control and an AM/FM/CD stereo. Airbags on both
sides provide an extra measure of safety, while the featured
anti-theft device helps ensure that the car never leaves your
possession without your consent. The dash area is just as clean as
you'd expect, given the condition of the rest of the car, and a
plate mounted over the glove box serves notice of this Caddy's
special edition status.
Plenty of eager power comes via the 4.6 liter fuel injected
Northstar V8 inside the engine compartment. It's good for a full
300 horsepower while producing unexpectedly good mileage so, given
the car's stellar overall running condition, this is a luxurious
ride that's ready, willing and able to log substantial mileage
without causing undue damage to your wallet. The powerplant sits in
an unusually clean engine bay, surrounding by squeaky clean
components and teams with a 4-speed transmission that was revered
for its smoothness when this ETC debuted, and whose overdrive gear
brings down the RPMs at highway speeds. Smooth power steering
combines with the Eldorado's relatively low, road hugging stance
and capable suspension to make for agile handling, while power
brakes at all four corners bring the set of 15" special edition ETC
7-spoke wheels wrapped with fresh Firestone tires to prompt, fade
resistant stops.
Delivering an unbeatable combination of an exhilarating driving
experience and understated luxury at an attainable price, this 2002
Cadillac Eldorado ETC Collector's Edition offers a very compelling
proposition. Call today!
