When someone says "Triumph," your mind may go directly to the TR-6
or even motorcycles. When it comes to small British cars of an era
gone by, Triumph is a household name. While the TR-6 as wildly
popular when new, and still is, its predecessor was just as
well-known in its heyday. The TR-4 is a sporty little roadster, and
tons of fun to drive as any compact sports car should be!
This 1963 Triumph TR-4 has been in the hands of the same owner
since the late 1970s. While it was an off and on project for the
majority of the time, in recent years it has seen a full
restoration. This Triumph looks great! The body is straight and the
convertible top is in excellent condition. The hubcaps are all
intact, and all of the other brightwork is both brilliant and
intact. Even the trunk has been properly finished out! Visually
speaking, this is a simple car, but it has a fantastic look to it
and really captures that classic British feel.
The interior has been refinished to match the quality of the
exterior. The seats have been recovered in the gorgeous combination
of black with white piping, which matches the overall color theme
of the car (as it should). Any original items that were in good,
usable conditioned were reinstalled. It may be small, but once you
get inside this car is actually quite comfortable!
Under the hood is a correct 2138cc inline four-cylinder engine.
Both the engine and engine bay are as clean as can be! The engine
itself is clean and maintained, while the engine bay has been kept
clean and tidy. The engine has been fully rebuilt along with a
variety of other mechanical items. This car has reportedly only
been driven 300 miles since the engine was rebuilt. That's right;
she's fresh and turn-key! This little car runs great, and boy is it
fun to drive with the 4-speed manual transmission! The underside is
nearly as clean as the topside; exactly how you would expect a
restored car that has been used sparingly to look.
If you're a discerning buyer looking to get into something a little
less common, this British cutie is sure to grab your attention!
This Triumph is a blast to drive, and would be the perfect choice
for someone in the market for a fair-weather fun car.
