Vehicle Description
1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe - Safari Build
WP0AB0914KS120563 completed November 1988
25th Anniversary Edition was modified to a safari-style build
completed by Ryan Turri of the Bay Area, including a custom
suspension system from Rebel Racing Products. The exterior was
repainted in an original 25th Anniversary Silver Metallic. Many
options were installed including custom brush guards, skid plates,
a hood-mounted rally light pod inspired by the Paris-Dakar 959s, RS
style ducktail rear spoiler, custom hand-made front and rear crash
bars, 911R-style side Porsche script, a 911SC RS side-view mirror,
and blue mud flaps.
The raised suspension system was custom-built by Rebel Racing
Products. It consists of custom-valved Bilstein shocks, billet
aluminum Rebel Racing bushings, and custom lowered, reinforced, and
gusseted spindles with a Rebel Racing bump steer kit mounted
upside-down.
The 16" Fuchs forged alloy wheels have been color-matched to the
interior (Navy Blue) with anodized outer rim. 215/65 series BF
Goodrich Baja Champion All-Terrain T/A tires provide traction both
on and off-road.
The interior is fitted with custom-upholstered Recaro Pole Position
seats re-covered in factory Porsche Studio fabric, matching door
panels, rear seat delete, and an RS carpet kit has been installed.
All of the gauges were rebuilt, and an ambient temperature gauge
replaces the factory clock in a custom bezel. A Momo Prototipo
steering wheel, 917-style wood shift knob, Kenwood stereo head
unit, and Rennshift sport shifter have been installed. The center
console has been deleted, and the A/C controls were moved to the
knee pad with a custom panel. The A/C blows cold!
It is a very good running and driving 911 with a 3.2-liter engine
and G50 915 manual 5-speed transmission and four-wheel disc brakes.
Picked and displayed at Luftgekhlt 6 June 2019. Excellent
opportunity to purchase a dry California Safari style 911 with all
the hard work done!
