Vehicle Description
1970 MERCURY COUGAR XR-7
Why This Car Is Special
This 1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 we have at Skyway Classics is a one
owner Florida Cougar that was purchased from the original owner in
Orlando, Florida who bought it from Central Florida Lincoln Mercury
Dealer in 1970.
Mechanical
Our Cougar is equipped with the 351 cubic inch "Cleveland" V8
engine with 300 horsepower which was available for the first time
with the Select-Shift three-speed automatic transmission with the
floor-shift and a center Sports Console.
The rear suspension has Ford's famed 9-inch differential and our
Cougar stops well too with a l set of 10-inch drum brakes and Power
Disc Brakes on the front. Bolted over them were 14-inch desirable
styled factory steel wheels and BF Goodrich Radial TA raised white
letter tires.
Interior
The great looking black all original interior with its high-backed
bucket seats has the optional AM/FM stereo radio, the factory
tachometer and gauges, cold factory air conditioning, interior
lighting group, and wood grained dash and center console. It even
has the original floor mats too.
Exterior
This beautiful Mercury Cougar XR7 has a very well maintained
exterior body painted in yellow which makes a fantastic color
combination when it is combined with and still wearing its original
factory black vinyl top!
The front end features a pronounced center hood extension, hide
away headlights, and electric shaver grille with great trim, chrome
bumpers, and XR7 badging.
