In 1965, Shelby American injected its Cobra "DNA" into the Mustang to create the ultimate pony car. The most exciting version was the 1965 GT 350SR, which captured the SCCA's B/Production Class Road Racing Championship for three straight years. To celebrate the birth of the GT350, Carroll Shelby and Unique Performance created a Limited Edition 40th Anniversary GT 350SR that is more powerful than the 1965 427 Shelby Cobra. The all-aluminum 427 C.I. small block Shelby engine is rated at 585 horsepower.
