SPS0026 is a Stunning British Racing Green 289 Slab Side. Licensed
by Shelby and built aesthetically and dimensionally correct to the
original 289 Cobras of the early 60's. Featuring a Brass Windshield
that has been nickle plated and chromed and a complete set of
chrome bumpers. Hood latches, headlights, turn signals, and the
Original Style Aluminum Grill complete the look on the outside.
Inside of the cockpit the leather wrapped dash is adorned with
period correct Stewart Warner gauges. manufactured brand new to the
original size and laid in the correct location. The wood-rimmed
Mota Lita Steering Wheel, Chrome carriage style Door Catches, lined
Glove Box, and chrome Grab Handle transport you back in time.
SPS0026 has some personalized touches featuring AC exterior badges
and Steering wheel center cap to pay homage to the builders of
Carroll's original rolling chassis. The wheels cover the 4 piston
wilwood disc brakes and were custom ordered matte silver painted
instead of the standard chrome. This look really gives this car an
authentic feel against the dark British Racing Green exterior.
Under the hood sits a brand new carbureted Ford 302 Boss Engine
bolted to a Tremec T-5 5 Speed Manual Transmission. The wheels are
driven by an Aluminum ZF Limited Slip Differential. Cooling is
controlled by thermostatically controlled electric fans behind a
aluminum radiator with a period correct Harrison water expansion
tank.
The Superformance MKII 289 Slab Side is an authentic Shelby
licensed product. The Shelby 289 street roadster is the car
credited with starting the muscle car era in 1962. Today's MKII 289
Slab Side is modeled after the original car but with some modern
upgrades in materials and design that incorporate safety and
performance improvements without sacrificing driving excitement or
originality.
