Derivatives of the XK engine pushed Jaguar to three wins at the
world-famous Le Mans between 1951 and 1953. As a result, fewer than
9000 were built between 1954 and 1957 making it the rarest of all
three variants of the XK. The XK140 was only in production for a
short period before the heavily revised XK150 replaced it. Today's
collectors appreciate the XK140 since it retains the pure beauty of
the XK120 while offering superior on-road ability and comfort. The
Special Equipment package "S" (also known as the "M" in the US
market) and optional C-Type cylinder head offered an increased
horsepower upwards of 210. The XK140 S was the preferred choice for
the sporting buyer looking to get the most out of their Jaguar.
On the dashboard is a brass plaque to authenticate this car is a
factory replica of the record breaking car which achieved the speed
