The Last and Best Year of the 1950’s Thunderbird Coupes
1957 marked the end of an era for Ford. The last and ,according to many , the best year of the famous 2 door T-bird coupes. The “Baby Birds, as they were called, were immensely popular and, although they were not designed to compete with the Chevy Corvettes, they outsold them 5 to 1. A beautiful and stylish touring car , that was ahead of its time, the 50’s T-birds soon became a classic. Suzanne Sommers drove one as the mysterious blonde, whom Richard Dreyfus was fixated on, in the movie, American Graffitti.
