For Sale: 1969 Ford Mustang in Marina, California

Vehicle Description

1969 FORD MUSTANG

351 MACH 1 PROJECT

from Mustang Beginnings

Up for sale is a very complete original 1969 “H” Code 351 2bbl. Winter Blue Mustang Mach 1

This Mach 1 was made to break the sound barrier. With its FMX automatic transmission, and 3.00 axle ratio  and 351 Windsor engine, it will burn rubber all the way down the block when properly restored.

This Mach would make an easy project car, which would be worth at least $50,000 to $60,000 when fully restored.   The original color was a unique Winter Blue which looks awesome in the sunlight (see attached pictures), or you could restore it and modernize it (see attached pictures of the “Blackened” Mustang Mach 1, attached.

With a White Clarion Knit /Corinthian vinyl interior and Blackout Hood, this Mach 1 will look great.  See the picture at the end to see how the car will look when finished.  Originally optioned with both Power Steering, and Power Front Disk Brakes, you can corner with ease and not worry about stopping the car when you need to.

We are including a 351 Windsor engine and automatic transmission with the car which are both ready to rebuild

We thought maybe someone would like to do the restoration work themselves, and save some money.   If the car does not sell now, we will begin restoration as soon as the auction ends, and the price will be much higher when we are finished.

Other original options included Power Front Disk Brakes, Power Steering, Fold Down Rear Seat, and AM Radio (See Marti report attached)

It also came with a Deluxe Seat Belts and Warning light, in addition to the, White Hi-Back Bucket Seats (Mach I),  Pop Open Gas Cap, and Sport Mirrors.

BODY:

This Mach 1 will need rust repair in the normal areas, floor pans, lower quarters, but the frame is straight and the quarters are in good condition.  Overall not that much is needed to bring this Mach 1 into driving condition.

INTERIOR:

The interior will need restoration, but it should be easy to bring back to excellence. The good news is that you can see what is needed.  You aren’t accepting someone else’s mistakes or bad repairs.  It will need a new interior package (carpet, seat covers, dash pad, door panels, and head liner, but we are a Scott Drake dealer and can help you with all the parts you need.

ENGINE BAY:

This Mach 1’s has a 351 Windsor engine, complete with a correct FMX automatic transmission attached, both are included with the car.  The engine might run, but you should plan on rebuilding both for long term reliability.   Engine bay is in great condition, and just needs to be cleaned and painted.  The battery apron will need rust repair, but that is normal.

BRAKE SYSTEM:

The Mach 1 has its original Power Front Disk brakes.  They are intact and complete, and a great addition to any Mustang.

STEERING:

The rim blow steering wheel is missing.  We do have a core, but you may want to purchase a restored rim blow wheel (typical price is around $400 on Ebay).  The Mach 1 came with Power Steering, which is a great option, particularly when parking.  Both the Power Steering and Brakes make this an easy car to drive.

GLASS:

Windshield is missing, but you would want a new one anyway. The door glass and the 1/4 side glass are all there, as is the real window, but there are a couple of scratches that can be buffed out.  The windows roll up and down.

OPTIONS:

Power Front Disk brakes and Power Steering, High Back Seats and Deluxe White Interior, plus an automatic transmission.  What more could you want?

MISC.

This Mustang was built on May 15th 1969 at the San Jose Assembly Plant.  Mustangs were popular then and they still are today.

The Mustang comes with most all of its parts, which really makes restoration that much easier.  I have a couple of contacts for all the other NOS stuff you may need.

The car pretty much speaks for its self and we can help where you need our help.  We can sell you any of the items you may need, like new seat covers, new carpet, etc. Please ask any questions, we know someone will receive a great project and ultimately a great Mach 1.
