Up for sale is a 1972 Chevelle SS 454 Manual 4 speed.

This is a fun car to drive to say the least. I am selling because I work overseas and don't have time to drive it. I'd rather her go to a good home who will enjoy it and take her out for rides and shows. This is not a numbers matching car. It was a restoration from what I understand. I did not get any paperwork from the previous owner. Everything looks as it should with an upgrade to the radio (looks original, but it's modern with bluetooth ect). AC blows super cold and Heat works great too.

I bought this car from a guy in FL two summers ago. Since then, I've run only two tanks of fuel through it (Premium). Once I got it, I only drove it about 10 miles before the clutch went out. My Uncle owns a '71 and has a local mechanic who specializes with these types of cars. Once in the mechanic's shop, he found a few other issues that contributed to the clutch going out, so I had him fix everything before I took it back. I'll give you the pros and cons as I know to be true.

Pros:

New Stage 2 Clutch

New Transmission

New CORRECT rear end gear ratio (what caused the clutch to go out/ previous owner had wrong gears in)

** Pulls really hard as it should/ Lots of fun**

Cons:

Interior LEFT turn signal dash light does not work.

Speedo: Reads 10mph over actual speed. (When he put the new trans in, he didn't have the plastic gear that controls the speedo so he left the original one in)

Paint has minor chips from driving. I would say 9/10. There is 2 bottles of touch up (paint/ clear) in the car if you wish to do it yourself.

Passenger side window trim came off the last time I took it to the car wash. I have it, but needs a new one. I am looking to replace it myself which is about $100 for the set online.

E Brake: It's loose and will not hold the car. The mechanic showed me how to adjust it, but was never able to get around to it. The bolt just needs to be tightened until it holds. I just leave it in gear when it is off.

Horn: It is not working. Not sure if it's the horn itself or the wiring. Again, cheap fix, but never got around to ordering a new one. (Usually around $13 online)

Power Steering: My mechanic said I just had to reroute the path of the belt and it would work. Wasn't that much of a pain unless I was leaving my garage so I didn't get that done either.

Honestly, that is all I can think of at this point. I will update if I can think of anything else.

To be totally transparent:

* I bought the car for $37,000 plus shipping ($1250 from FL to NY)

* Previous owner had it appraised at $38,000.

* New parts and labor were around $4500.

I know I am taking a big loss on this car, but I will have another one in the future. I just want the room in my garage for now to put my truck inside while I'm away.

Please email me with any questions you may have and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for looking.
