For Sale: 1966 Chrysler Newport in Atlanta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

1966 Chrysler Newport CONVERTIBLE !!  Make a parade car !!  This car is BIG.  The history of this car is all here, it has been owned by one lady in Atlanta for about 50 years. This is  a southern car. It has been garaged or covered for many years. After years of sitting things are stuck. The engine rolls over with the starter but I did not try to start it, the cooling system was still full, the brakes were dry and now the brake pedal is stuck. The rust thru on the drivers door by the mirror and behind the RR fender skirt is the only rust thru I have found. Floor pans and trunk seem solid but surface rust. The factory A/C had some pressure so a recharge may make it work. The old story is here," It was running when I parked it " poor gas mileage is the reason why.  A 383 with much fouled spark plugs ( I found 2 ) will do that .

The convertible top pump runs and the top moves but I did not put the top down. I did not want to get a stuck convertible top. The tires are shot but 4 good wheels. Have only 3 original hub caps but the fender skirts are in good shape this car is so original it still has all 10 left hand lug nuts. Some of the CHRYSLER letters are not on the car but the owner has them "somewhere" and she is hunting the house for them. She is moving and does not want to leave the car behind thus the sale. The car interior is rough and the power seat does not move. The am radio makes some sounds but not music. I am posting some photos of the car and will upload some more soon. 53 years eats most cars but this one is not beyond repair.  The owner is my neighbor and I will be helping her sell/move this car. I will try to answer any questions so just ask.

Update :  Power washed and new photos.

Update : New photos of bottom of car frame looks good .

Update : I have removed the trunk liner and found 2 rust holes through the trunk  passenger side of car. One is 3-4 inches and other is small ( see photos ) . I removed the inside carpets to inspect the floor pans, surface rust but solid. ( see photos )

Update : It now has 4 tires with air so it should roll onto a trailer or truck.
