Vehicle Description
1941 Chevrolet Pickup
1941 was a unique year for Chevrolet. This was the first year that
the pickups did not share a similar look with the cars. Typically
in the past except for the obvious difference of the truck bed the
front end, grill and fenders of both body styles matched. That is
not the case in 1941 though as the trucks looked completely
different than the cars and had their own grills, trim and more.
These trucks were known as the AK series and lasted until 1947.
Despite their great look you don't see a lot of these out there
which makes a pickup like this 41 pretty unique. It has undergone a
complete body off restoration where not a single component was left
untouched. In addition to getting this awesome vehicle your
purchase includes a 3 inch binder that is packed full of
documentation that fully outlines the build. The builder of this
truck does excellent work and is very detail oriented. We wish
every vehicle we sold had this much build info! Since the build it
has had 166 miles put on it so it still looks very fresh. During
the process the truck received new metal cab corners, new door
patch panels, and new cowl patch panels to eliminate any concern
for rust. The cab is all original steel as is the hood and side
panels but the fenders and running boards were replaced with new
fiberglass. The bed is also brand new but is a steel reproduction
version. To allow for tire clearance the rear fenders are 2 inches
wider than original. The body is painted in a very slick metallic
Gray paint which really looks great. Subtle changes like the Silver
powder coated grill, Silver powder coated window frames, Black
powder coated headlight housings and Black powder coated bumper all
work together and give the truck a very cool hot rod style. The
stance of this truck is unmatched by most out there. It looks
extremely tough whether it is rolling down the road or sitting
still. The cool thing? You can set it to whatever you would like!
It has an adjustable air bag suspension so you can set it up for a
smooth ride or drop it down. Even when fully lowered the truck is
still driveable although you do have to be conscious of your
lessened clearance. The 17 inch custom wheels suit the truck
perfectly and are wrapped with fresh 235/45ZR17 tires. The truck
has a very cohesive look and everything works together. You can
tell the builder to the time and care to really think everything
out. Sometimes we list cars where the wheels may not match the
overall look or something just looks out of place. We wouldn't
change a thing on this pickup. Everything works together and plays
off each other nicely.
Under the hood is a new crate 350 V8 motor that runs extremely
well. Being a fresh build with a fresh drivetrain this thing has a
long life ahead of it. The motor is fitted with an Edelbrock
Performer manifold, Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor, and serpentine
belt system. Paired with the motor is a 200R4 4 speed automatic
with overdrive transmission with transmission cooler. The rear end
is a GM 10 bolt and looking under the truck you will see everything
is very cleanly done and things like the rear end are painted
Black. In addition to the air bag system the truck has a Fatman
Mustang II front end and rides down the road well. It has power
brakes with disc up front and a Flaming River power rack & pinion
steering system which together make it a great driver. The wiring
was reworked with a Ron Francis harness eliminating any electrical
concerns. Other nice features include the dual exhaust and poly gas
tank.
The interior of this pickup was entirely redone with Black
upholstery. It has a new glide seat which is hinged so you can
easily tip it forward to access the air bag controls, wiring as
well as easily access the battery. The carpeting is in excellent
condition and to the floor is mounted the Lokar shifter and
emergency brake. The dash is painted to match the body and features
Autometer white face gauges and the Old Air AC/Heat controls. The
leather wrapped steering wheel is from Ididit and tops off the
Ididit tilt column. In addition to the exterior of the bed being
all new the inside was redone with new wood, polished runners and
chrome fasteners.
This cool truck is a very well built show car that runs and drives
just as great as it looks. You don't see many of these and even
less done in this style so snag it while you still can.
