We like the future classics at Streetside, too, and that's why a
car like this 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T gets us excited. It
combines the classic muscle car Hemi V8 spirit with a great
suspension, plenty of luxuries, and room for the whole family. And
now it's all available for quite an affordable price.
This was the first year that Dodge resurrected the Charger name for
modern times, and they did a terrific job. After all, they took the
sensibility of a full-sized family sedan and wrapped it in quite a
menacing package. The deep slope in the front fenders gives this
the narrow-eyed look of the Viper, and the kick-up incorporated in
the rear door panels instantly evoke memories of the Chargers of
the '60s. What makes this example so special is that it's a
two-owner car that has stayed around the Tampa area its whole life.
It has an exceptionally well-kept look that comes from being
treated with respect. Part of that may have to do with the fact
that in this inaugural year there were only 2,000 versions of the
upgraded Daytona package finished in Dodge's famous Tor-Red color.
Not only does the paint remain vibrant, but also the Daytona
package gave you great blackout package on the grille, full with
rear spoiler, and decals on the hood, rear panel, and rear fenders.
Daytonas even got 20-inch chrome wheels from the factory. So while
this looks like an awesome custom street machine, it's really just
a well-respected stock future-classic.
Modern cars are great for offering modern features. And so you'll
love sitting down in the leather bucket seats with suede-like
inserts and cool red stitching. Yours even power adjusts to the
perfect driving position. Plus, you have all the right luxury
features, including dual zone automatic climate control, power
sunroof, keyless entry/alarm, heated seats, power windows, power
locks, dual front airbags, side airbags, cruise control,
tilt/telescopic steering wheel, and the factory AM/FM/CD/cassette
stereo. So it has everything you want, and the massive rear seat
room means you're not the only ones who's comfortable for the long
haul.
Under the hood is what makes the Charger such a great modern
classic. As a performance R/T model this has the ultra-desirable
5.7-liter Hemi V8. It has the tidy look of good maintenance, and we
have the receipts to back it up, too. This Hemi really lives up to
its muscle car heritage by being rated at 350 horsepower in the
top-level Daytona trim. And there are likely a few more ponies on
this one thanks to the cold air intake. You get a great muscle car
sound out of the Daytona's upgraded dual exhaust. But the real
desire is what a modern car can do with all this power. Unlike its
'60s-style relatives, this Charger has a five-speed automatic
transmission, which gives it the right gearing to be both a fast
mover and an overdrive cruiser. Plus, you get a fully independent
suspension for terrific grip. Add in power steering, four-wheel
disc brakes, and ABS, and you absolutely understand the appeal of
owning a modern V8 machine.
Complete with owner's manual, this is one of the best examples
around to celebrate the return of the Dodge Charger. So at a price
like this, you don't want to let this deal slip away, call
today!
