Here is a beautiful 1962 Cadillac 6-window Sedan DeVille that has only had three owners since new, all within a ten mile radius. It has been very well cared for with only 38k miles to date (that’s less than 700 miles per year). It also has the look and ride that helped distinguish the Cadillac brand.
This car has such an elegant look with its York Blue paint and wide white tires. The 1962 model also has the curved a-pillars and lower body creases that give it even more character. This example is remarkably straight and solid throughout with good chrome and brightwork as well. It is free of any accident damage and all the body gaps look factory fresh. Note the vintage AAA badge out back along with the original selling dealer’s decal on the rear bumper.
The engine is Cadillac’s 390 cubic inch V8 with a factory rating of 325 hp. This is plenty of motor for the bid sedan, especially with 410 ft-lb of torque. The transmission is GM’s well proven 4-speed Hydramatic. The power brakes have remarkable stopping ability, while the power steering lets you turn the wheel with your little finger. It’s everything you’d expect from a 1960’s Cadillac.
The interior also looks great with its big bench seats with flip down armrests. Hard to believe it is almost 60 years old! There are no strange odors either. The dash and headliner look practically new and the original rubber floor mats remain. Note the Autronic Eye on the dashboard along with the factory cruise control setup (non-functioning). The wipers, horn, heater/defroster, radio, power antenna, power seat, and power windows all work as they should. There is also an original spare and jack in the trunk.
There is nothing like riding in one of these old Cadillacs, especially when it looks and drives as good as this one. And I think it makes as big a statement today as it did back in 1962.
My dad and mom purchased this car in 1962 here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Pick of the Day is a 1934 Chevrolet coupe that comes with a wonderful story of family ownership. “Our father bought this car when he was a senior in high school in 1942 from his best friend,” reports the private seller, which turns out to be four sisters. (The car cost $485 new; Dad […]
You read about the racing influence of James Dean on Lew Bracker. There was a second long tail to the James Dean legend. Many suggest the Porsche 550 Spyder he drove to his death was, in fact, cursed. After Dean’s death, much of the car was parted out. A racer who replaced parts on his […]

If it seems like only yesterday that luxury automakers started rolling out sport utility vehicles, you’ll likely be surprised to learn that Bentley is introducing the second generation of its Bentayga, or that Bentley has produced more than 20,000 examples of its first-generation SUV. The launch features the Betayga V8 model, but Bentley says a […]

From the Porsche website: “The 24 Hours of Le Mans on 15/16 June 2019 and the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife just one week later put drivers, engineers and team managers under stresses seldom experienced in such a concentrated form. With spectacular images, the new Porsche documentary Endurance outlines the background, challenges and tireless efforts. “British director […]
