Vehicle Description
Check out this really nice, all original (except paint) 1955 Dodge
Town panel. It has the original Flathead inline 6 cylinder engine,
and a 3-speed transmission with column shifter (three on the tree).
The odometer reads 13,000 miles, and several 'experts' have said
that it is possible those are original miles. It currently has some
comfortable, late model seats installed. There is no rust on this
vehicle, other than the bottom side of the rear doors, as shown in
photos. The under body and frame are rust free. There is no body
filler or rust repair anywhere on the vehicle. Given the fact that
there are a few bolt holes that have been epoxied closed on the
roof and the front fenders, it is likely this was a Civil Defense
vehicle that spent most it's life parked in a small municipality's
garage, waiting for the Russians to attack. The color does appear
to be the correct factory color, given the old paint that can be
seen inside the fenders, on the firewall and other hard to get at
areas. The color was available that year, per the color chart
shown. Radial tires are like new, and offer a smooth ride. All the
gauges work, except for the fuel gauge, which believes to be a
grounding problem. It does drip a little oil here and there, but no
more than any vintage vehicle of this age. There is virtually no
play in the steering, and runs down the road at 55 MPH, straight as
an arrow. It starts, runs and drives perfectly. Please Note The
