1962 Tuxedo Black Fuel Injected Corvette Convertible.Stunning frame
off restoration!Fawn interior 327/360hp Fuelie 4-speed manual
transmission. So what was considered the "ultimate" street Corvette
back in '62? Opinions may vary but we think the general consensus
would be the example featured right here. The '62 model was a
milestone for Corvette. After nine years and many changes
production of the first generation was coming to an end. And the
powers that be in St. Louis wanted the last year of the C1 to be
the best year. Although the basic body design was a carry-over from
the previous year there were some distinct changes. Most notably
the removal of the stainless trim around the coves in the doors.
And because the trim was gone so was the option of painting the
coves a contrasting color. in its absence was a ribbed rocker panel
molding for an overall less-busy look. And under the hood big
changes were happening. And by big we mean cubic inches! The 283ci
small block was expanded to 327ci. That of course added additional
hp and torque. And in the case of the fuel injected '62 power went
from 315 to 360! The '62 was indeed the best of the breed! We've
owned this awesome '62 over the decades and we're always thrilled
to have it back! Not only is it beautifully and correctly frame off
restored it also has the rare distinction of having it's original
fuel injected engine still between its front fenders! Options
