This 1986 is one of only 3314 built in the final year of production, a potent 205 HP inter-cooled turbocharged engine, 4-wheel disc brakes, Hurst shift linkage on a Borg Warner factory transmission Some of the new stuff includes, brakes, fuel lines, gas tank, valve cover gasket, battery, Konis, OEM Springs, Exhaust from cats back with stainless steel end sections. Professionally refinished factory wheels with Goodyear Eagles, tons of NOS and OEM parts, oil changed and serviced regularly. Great oil pressure, pulls hard and smooth. Recently passed Calif smog.
The motor is a little powerhouse, and runs extremely well and remains completely stock, so you know it hasn't been abused. Linked to a slick-shifting Borg Warner T5 5-speed manual, the 3.73 gears on a Trac-Lock limited slip rear end that is leak free.
This SVO wears a shiny coat of 9L single stage DuPont White paint that was recently and professionally done by 1st owner, to bring back the shine from the not so good 80s Ford paint
Inside, the SVO is equipped much like its GT brothers, but with factory Recaro style body-hugging cloth buckets with adjustable lumbar and thigh support, that do a great job of holding you in place during spirited driving. They're original and in great condition, but show the usual signs of light use on drivers side outer bluster, otherwise look showroom new. The gauges are all fully functional, and if originality matters, the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo is still in place. A genuine leather-wrapped wheel (showing its age very lightly ) and matching shifter knob were part of the SVO's special equipment, and things like A/C (needs Freon conversion charge), power windows and locks, and a folding rear seat are standard equipment. Door panels and carpets are in great shape, even in the hatch area. Windshield has small crack on top of passenger side.
She’s not a trailer queen but gets thumbs up whenever she’s out and lots of interest at car events and stop lights. There's some evidence of light age here and there, a couple small blemishes here and there. This car has been taken very good care of. Always garaged and stored for more than 1/2 of its life and driven only to events and around town in recent years. Started up weekly.
