First generation Monte Carlo's are probably the favorite and most sought after in the series. Our 1972 Monte Carlo not only has great looks but lots of power to back it up. Powered by it's original 402 big block engine and turbo 400 transmission, and connected to a 12 -volt posi-traction rear end. Mr. Billy Holloway walked into Frank McNally Chevrolet in Flushing Michigan on March 13, 1972 to work out the details and order what would become his brand new Monte Carlo. Billy was very specific with his option list and we have a copy of the original order form. Vinyl top, rally wheels, auxiliary lighting, AM/FM stereo, power steering, power disc-brakes, tinted glass, air conditioning, bucket seats, console with floor- shifter, 12 posi-traction rear end, turbo hydro-matic 400 transmission, 400 cubic inch big block motor, sport steering wheel, tilt steering column, remote outside mirror and map light rear view mirror.
Billy took delivery, almost a month later, on April 15, 1972 and kept the car in absolute excellent condition while under his care. Owner number 2 purchased the car in 2002 and stored the car until Rally Sport Classics recently purchased it. We have an incredible amount of paperwork with this car. You very rarely get documentation like this! The Monte Carlo is in stunning condition, with all of it's original sheet metal .
It has recently been given an all over respray in the color it was born with, midnight bronze. The interior is amazing original condition. The trunk area still retains it's original spatter paint.
