I have owned this car for over 16 years. The car has been fully restored twice. One frame off by a prior owner (California) and one frame on by me. I had the retired top mechanic of a local Pontiac dealer in Phoenix, AZ restore the car to a higher standard than the first restoration.
It is numbers matching. I chose to replace the 3 speed with an overdrive transmission but I have the original transmission and converter (both reconditioned). I have many invoices for work performed. A copy of the Pontiac invoice to Thomas Pontiac 10/68. 7328 of these cars were produced in 1969. Pontiac Historical Services documents and AMA Specs are included.
I installed a satellite radio because I love to drive this car and wanted to be comfortable. I have made minor changes to the car to improve handling, notable is the IROC steering box and 1 in. anti-sway bars. It has factory air which works well. While it it did not have Ram Air originally, I added it and the larger exhaust headers to help it breath. The radiator is aluminum and does a great job of keeping the 400 cu.in. motor cool. Frankly, I wanted a 1969 car to meet my driving standards and it does.
I have never raced this car, strictly a first class driver. I am a car enthusiast not a collector.
To my way of thinking this car is better than new.
