Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this stunning 1971 Pontiac Esprit which is in very nice overall condition with low actual miles of 82,195. This Esprit remained with its original owner until the summer of 2014 and comes in the unique color combo of Castilian Bronze with Sandlewood vinyl top over Sandlewood deluxe interior. The original engine was rebuilt in 2015 with a Ram Air cam shaft, roller tip rockers, 4 barrel carb. and new factory intake. The engine was balanced and build costs were close to $4000. A ram air hood was added and rear spoiler were added during a repaint in 2015. The interior is mostly original and in great condition for its age. The frame and under carriage is very solid and honest with no rust or repaired areas with lots of factory red primer still visible. This Esprit is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Castilian Bronze over Deluxe Sandlewood vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag seen in photos. Its a stunningly beautiful color scheme which is rarely seen. Original owner had the car until 2014.
Exterior
The Bronze exterior is in very nice restored condition. This Esprit was treated to a professional repaint in 2015 and still has a very nice look and appearance. The paint quality is good with a nice gloss and is smooth to the touch. The emblems and bright work around the car are all in good condition. The nose emblem was just replaced. Overall the body is solid and the gaps and lines are good. Both bumpers are in good shape and the chrome shins well. The underside of the car is very solid with no rust repairs or corrosion issues. There is still a lot of factory red primer visible as seen in the photos. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. The BF Goodrich tires have full tread left and are sized 235/60/15 and the wheels are OEM Rally originals which are in good overall condition. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with the spare tire, trunk mat, and jack and tools.
Interior
The Sandlewood deluxe vinyl interior of this Esprit is in great original condition. The seat covers are original and in good overall condition especially for being original and nearly 50 years old. The drivers seat does have a few seam splits and wear from getting in and out of car. The carpet is original too and in good overall condition. The original dash is in excellent overall condition and the dash bezel is in excellent condition as well. There are no cracks in the dash and no warping. The original style stereo looks great in the car but is not hooked up and an aftermarket stereo is in the map pocket and works. The original deluxe door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in great condition with no stains and is not sagging at all. The package tray is in great condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock which is common for not working. The stereo, wipers, turn signals, and blower motor all work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Esprit is in superb mechanical condition and still retains its original 350 Pontiac engine, see vin stamp photo. The engine was removed in 2015 and fully rebuilt with a new ram air cam, new roller tip rockers, and new 4 barrel carb. and intake. A new distributor was added with new wires and a new radiator was installed. Although the receipts for the build have been misplaced its obvious by the way the car drives that the work was performed. This car runs strong and consistent and is very reliable. We have driven this Esprit numerous times on the streets and highways and it always performs very well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. This Esprit performed great during a recent 300 mile road trip. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs very well. This Esprit is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Newer 2.5" dual exhaust was added which gives this Esprit an excellent rumble at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This Esprit has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and remains in great overall condition. The outstanding way this Esprit looks and drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special car.
