Vehicle Description
Spanish firm Santana built Land Rovers under license in Spain for
many years, and they were sold throughout Central and South America
with great success. Originally conceived in 1948 as a light
military vehicle patterned after the Willys Jeep, by 1968, the 2.25
liter inline 6 made a "Landy" one of the most durable and capable 4
x 4's in the world.
Flawlessly presented in freshly-applied British Racing Green, this
fine Series IIA Rover received a comprehensive body-off-chassis
restoration just last year, and is presented today with only 175
miles since completion. It's a fully matching numbers example with
power brakes, fresh rubber, and a new soft top, and stands today as
one of the nicest we've ever seen. Learn for yourself why a well
prepared Land Rover such as this example is still considered the
epitome of off-road performance a full 50 years after it was
built.
Bid on this car in person at the RAND Luxury Auction on October
12th.
