To the common car enthusiast this 1955 Studebaker President 'K'
body hardtop may look stock, but to a trained Studebaker collector
this is a truly unique build. The vehicle is a complete ground-up,
nut and bolt restoration done with impeccable attention to detail.
A copy of the original build sheet, restoration
receipts/documentation and shop manuals are available. The body is
completely rust-free with absolutely no damage to the body or frame
at any point in its life. The roof is Ford Oxford white with an
off-white body and Ford Vermillion Red on the lower sections of the
car complimented by a dual-tone grey vinyl interior.It is powered
by a numbers-matching Passmaster 259 CI V8 engine rebuilt to
factory specifications and paired to a 1989 GM 700R4 4-speed
overdrive transmission with lock up converter. Front disk brakes
have been installed with an aftermarket Ford Mustang 7 inch power
brake booster mounted to the firewall. A lot of work has gone into
every detail of this show-quality Studebaker, no matter how small
or hidden. All rubber and seals are brand new, all hardware has
been replaced or restored and clear coated to maintain finish. All
door, window lift, latches, hinges, operating mechanisms, etc have
been restored and serviced. All the glass is original and in
excellent condition with no chips, scratches, cracks or
delamination. All the raw steel parts were media blasted and either
painted or clear coated to preserve finish. Behind the dash heat
and AC was also added in with a factory-look fit and finish. The
interior is a completely custom retrofit of the best features
across the Studebaker years. The dash is from a 1963 Hawk GT,
painted grey and Vermillion Red with a grey padded dash with chrome
trim. Rear seats are from a 1962 Hawk GT and modified to fit the
space. The front seats came from a late-model Ford Taurus, but have
been cut down and redesigned to match the Gran Turismo Hawk design.
A custom center console and armrest has been designed to compliment
the styling. Premium foil insulation and sound-deadening material
has been installed throughout the interior. The tail light housing
has been modified from original design to include the reverse
light, thus removing them from the rear trunk as originally
designed to provide a more eye-pleasing look.There is so much more
