Vehicle Description
Here is a super original presenting Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit
finished in Garnet (deep plum non-metallic) with biscuit (ochre
tan) Connolly hide interior. The twin fine lines to the waist-rails
and the alloy wheel beauty rings are hand-painted in light gold.
The car is an incredible example of a Spirit that very high marks
for originality and cleanliness throughout. Very nice indeed. This
example is VIN 01725. She is the 528th SZ series off the production
line. As for Silver Spirit for the American Markets, she is 29th
car to hit our shores making her truly one of the first for the
USA. This one is an extremely well maintained example showing a low
40,000 miles. It has recently been thru Park-Ward's workshop and
anything requiring doing was attended to including all the
hydraulics and braking system inspected and overhauled as required
(pumps, accumulators, gas springs, etc). Mechanically, this car
needs nothing. Under the bonnet, the presentation is amazing. It
has not been precision detailed but simply kept clean and tidy
throughout its life. The car sports Michelin X 235/70 15 whitewall
tyres on original Rolls-Royce steel wheels with polished stainless
steel hub caps. The body of the car is straight and the paint
entirely consistent and lustrous. The paint appears to be
completely factory original. This is very rare to see these days as
many Rolls-Royces from this era have struggled to fight "natural
fading". There can be no question this care has the miles she shows
and always garaged. Around the car there are a few minor nicks but
these are few and only show if one looks hard. Otherwise it is very
shiny without any dents or dings. Rubbers, mouldings, badges and
external fittings are all in good condition. Glass is excellent.
The interior on this car is extra nice and very original in
presentation. The Connolly leather shows beautifully. The front
seats cushions are soft and supple, not the card-board feel many of
these cars became to have. The entire interior is 100% original and
has never been redyed so it still shows the deep burnished grain
that was a signature of Connolly Vaumol hides (later SZ cars
switched away from Vaumol and lost this beautiful antique look).
There is slight scuffing on the front seat bolster edges that can
be very simply touched up, and we can do this for you. We simply
wanted to present the car in its completely untouched condition.
All the wood in the car is completely original which is not often
seen on these early Spirits and Spurs. There are some small
hairlines in the lacquer but these are not really noticeable. On
the dash they are more prevalent but for some reason they show up a
lot more in the photos than you notice in real like. A
perfectionist might have them re-done by us but I think the
originality outweighs doing so, in my opinion. Carpets, seats,
dash, rear parcel shelf, head-liner, fixtures and fittings are
truly excellent and I best encourage you to look at all the photos
to fully appreciate how nicely the interior presents. The 3rd brake
light added at some point and it is a genuine Rolls-Royce unit. We
can remove it if you are the purist. As part of Park-Ward's
maintenance program, all major electricals and features & functions
have been inspected so everything is operating as it should;
windows, mirrors, A/C, heater, lights, wipers, etc. This is a true,
"take the keys and drive" example with no additional budget needed
to attend to any nuances or gremlins. It is tight to drive, brakes
strong and rides as a Rolls-Royce should. This is not a throw-away
line as (many might already know) early Spirits and Spurs had
suspension issues such that today, the cars feel like they will
fall apart when you drive over a railway track. This one is tight
and firm and has none of these awful characteristics. The car is of
a very high standard and is an easy 9+ out of 10 driver rating. She
is a very pretty example of the early Spirit model with few left
remaining in this co
