A Restored 1965 Mercury Park Lane Convertible

Mercury’s top-of-the-line Park Lane convertible is one of the most nostalgic cars of the ‘60s and our ’65 convertible stands out for a number of reasons:

Paint and Chrome

This car has a nice respray in its Turquoise finish. 

The chrome and stainless are in good condition.

The underside is in good condition with typical surface rust on some of the non-undercoated surfaces.

Interior

The Blue vinyl seat upholstery is in very good condition and shows extremely well.  The door panels are likewise very nice.  The dash pad is generally nice but has some peeling.

Likewise, the white convertible top is in good condition and operates correctly.

Engine

The engine in this Park Lane is the powerful 390 cid Marauder V-8 with a 4bbl carburetor. The engine was rebuilt about 14,000 miles ago (see receipts) and it starts and runs properly. The engine compartment is detailed.  It is smooth-running and a pleasure to drive.

Transmission

The car has an automatic transmission that shifts properly. 

Tires, Brakes, Comfort and Safety Systems

The car is equipped with four Hankook 225/75R15 tires with much of their tread remaining, mounted on steel wheels with original spinner hubcaps.

There is, of course, power steering—and power brakes with disc brakes up front—to  make driving—and stopping—effortless.

The safety equipment (lights, wipers and turn signals) all work. The horn and back-up lights will need attention.

The car’s convertible top was replaced and the top and glass rear window are in very good condition.  The lowering/raising mechanism works properly.
